Quiet in New England...

It's A Crisp Fall Day In New England.

The sun is shining, and it seems warmer than it should for this time of year. The Patriots are playing the Dolphins at Gillette Stadium, and there is the same feeling among Patriot Nation that there is when the Red Sox play the Evil Empire--the New York Yankees.

The Bradyless Patriots are 2-0; and, the Dolphins are, well, winless.

For the last week, I have been listening to the kind of smack talk that gets rappers shot (or Candidate Obama in trouble with the lipstick-wearing half of the population).

And today, at least for now, I feel vindicated in some of my responses to Patriot Nation.

Ronnie Brown has been on fire. He has worked well with Ricky Williams to keep the Pats' defense off-balance (which is, admittedly, pretty hard to do). Chad Pennington has passed well, scrambling and ducking when necessary; and, showing off his throwing arm. The tight ends and receivers have made the catches when called upon. The defense, surprisingly, has been tenacious and aggressive, hectoring Matt Cassell; and, effectively shutting down the vaunted Patriots offense through at least three quarters.

So, at the end of three, with the Patriots trailing 28-13, I am happy.

And Patriot Nation...

they are blissfully silent.
